2025 Holiday Gift Guide
I know many of you may already be working your way through Christmas Wish Lists, and we’re excited to share some new gift ideas with the families we serve. In our Discovery Program and tutoring sessions, we’re always working on important skills—everything we do has a purpose—but we make sure it’s fun, too!
We thought it might be helpful to share some of our favorite games that you can play at home. These are low-pressure, super fun, and great for building skills like processing speed, reading and math, and problem-solving. Plus, they are fun for the whole family! As parents, we know you’re working just as hard as your kids, and these games are a great way to connect, laugh, and learn together. If you’re looking for Christmas gift ideas, these are eight of our go-to favorites.
A fast-paced dice game that gets everyone laughing in seconds. We love TENZI because it builds processing speed, visual tracking, and quick decision-making — all through simple, 1-minute rounds. Perfect for busy families who want a fun, no-prep way to connect.
This classic wooden game strengthens number sense, addition skills, and strategic thinking — all while feeling like friendly competition. We chose it because it’s hands-on, screen-free, and easy for mixed-age siblings to play together.
Silly, energizing, and perfect for vocabulary building! Pickles to Penguins challenges players to make quick connections between pictures and ideas. It supports flexible thinking, language processing, and creativity… and usually brings lots of giggles.
We love PILES! for strengthening attention, rapid visual processing, and working memory. Players race to categorize cards as fast as they can, making it a great brain-boosting game that feels like play, not practice.
This “press-your-luck” version of Yahtzee uses strategy, probability, and quick decision-making. It’s great for building math skills, planning ahead, and staying flexible — but the rounds stay short so families can squeeze in a game anytime.
A parent favorite! SKYJO works on number sense, comparing values, planning, and memory. Rounds move quickly, it’s easy to learn, and it gives kids the chance to practice math skills in a stress-free, fun way.
Known as “the world’s fastest game,” Blink challenges players to match shapes, colors, or numbers at lightning speed. We chose it because it strengthens visual discrimination, processing speed, and attention — all in rounds that last under a minute. Perfect for quick connection time before dinner or between activities.
A favorite for building visual perception and rapid processing. Spot It! helps kids improve attention to detail, scanning, and flexible thinking with simple, fast-paced gameplay. It’s easy to throw in a bag and play anywhere, making connecting on-the-go even easier.
